Landscape positions ranging from $17.00 - $33.00 per hour

Landscape season is full time work, with overtime as necessary. Winter season is reduced hours dependent on weather.

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION FOREMEN

  • Knowledge of proper construction practices when installing hardscape elements
  • Knowledge of proper grading techniques to ensure correct drainage
  • Knowledge of plant material, handling, & installation techniques
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate all related vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Able to perform basic calculations as related to material estimating, grading, and project layout
  • Able to read and understand plans, and use them to carry out a project
  • Able to communicate with landscape designers and production manager to coordinate daily work

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Overview

We are seeking a full-time skilled and dedicated Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team, who is needed to service a fleet of landscape trucks, trailers, skid loaders, and a variety of other big and small construction and snow equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, which includes performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Prior mechanical experience is required, and an ability to work in a dynamic setting as a team player is a must. You provide the tools, willingness and a positive attitude, and we'll provide the spacious heated shop with 12K lb hoist, tools and shop equipment, along with a work environment where you are appreciated. Work hours are flexible, based on 40 hours a week with seasonal overtime. Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on your abilities.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various repair tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors for parts procurement when necessary.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required; additional certifications related to vehicle maintenance are a plus.
